A million kilometres does not happen by accident.
With Legends of the Long Run, ISUZU is celebrating the customers and trucks that have turned reliability into real business value.
ISUZU Motors South Africa has launched Legends of the Long Run, a campaign that pays tribute to loyal customers and the hardworking trucks that have helped build businesses across the country. The initiative shifts the spotlight from engineering claims to real customer stories, the kind written through distance, uptime and daily use.
ISUZU trucks have long been associated with durability, reliability and long service life. For operators, that reputation is measured in kilometres covered, loads delivered, downtime avoided, and revenue protected. In transport, logistics and construction, every hour off the road can affect revenue, planning and customer trust.
A TRIBUTE TO LOYAL CUSTOMERS
The campaign celebrates working trucks that are still on the road after hundreds of thousands of kilometres, with some having crossed the one-million-kilometre mark. These are not display vehicles. They are trucks that continue to serve, deliver and generate income.
For ISUZU, Legends of the Long Run is also a tribute to the customers who have helped make the company South Africa’s number one commercial vehicle brand for 13 consecutive years. Their stories form part of the brand’s wider legacy in the local transport and commercial vehicle sector.
BUILT ON TRUST
“Our success as a brand is built not only on the strength of our engineering, but on the trust our customers place in us every day,” says Mpho Nkhumeleni, Department Executive for CV Sales at ISUZU Motors South Africa. “Legends of the Long Run is a celebration of those customers and the incredible journeys they have taken with their trucks that continue to deliver value well beyond expectations.”
That statement speaks directly to the realities of fleet ownership. Successful operators do not simply buy trucks. They invest in assets that must work, earn, and continue to prove their value year after year.
ONE TRUCK, A FULL RESTORATION
As part of Legends of the Long Run, ISUZU Motors South Africa is inviting truck owners to share the stories behind their vehicles. One standout entry will be selected to receive a complete vehicle restoration by the original equipment manufacturer.
The winning truck will be carefully refurbished, with the process documented from the first bolt removed to the final engine start. For the selected owner, it will be a proper second life for a truck that has already done the hard yards.
WHEN RELIABILITY PAYS
For fleet owners, the numbers are usually remembered long after the launch brochure is forgotten. Kilometres covered, repairs avoided, loads completed, and resale value all tell the real story of whether a truck was a good decision.
That is why Legends of the Long Run works as more than a brand campaign. It speaks to the part of the business that operators care about most, whether the vehicle keeps earning when the work gets harder and the years start adding up.
PROVEN OVER TIME
ISUZU’s commercial vehicle reputation is backed by more than a century of global engineering experience and over 60 years in the South African market. That experience continues to shape vehicles built for operators who need dependable assets, not short-term promises.
Legends of the Long Run brings that reputation to life through the people who know these trucks best, the owners and drivers who have kept them working across industries, routes and seasons.
LAST WORDS
Legends of the Long Run shines a spotlight on the people and trucks that have earned it. For ISUZU and its customers, the real legends are not parked for show. They are still working, still delivering, and still keeping business in motion.
